Freezing leftovers already once reheated

by Lori
(Houston,TX)

Can I freeze leftovers that have been reheated once already? I didn't look closely at the recipe and made too much for my boyfriend and I. I was tired and didn't freeze extra the same night I cooked it. Can I still freeze some now that it's been reheated once?

You can. Expect that the quality won't be as good as fresh since the food will have been reheated three times by the time you get around to serving it again. Also, just be sure that it didn't sit out on the counter too long - while it's in the temperature danger zone bacteria can grow.

So you know, you don't have to freeze food the same night you make it. It's perfectly fine for it to sit in the fridge overnight. In fact, it should be fully cooled before you freeze it.
