Savory Raspberry Sauce Recipe
This savory raspberry sauce recipe is ideal for chicken or pork. It's a bit sweet which appeals to kids and can be a great way to get them to try a different type or cut of meat.
I loved this recipe but my husband hated it, he though it was too sweet and that fruit isn't a dinner item. I'll be making it again though; he'll get used to fruit on the dinner table eventually.
There is no need to cook this sauce before using so it's a huge time saver on freezer cooking assembly days.
It can also be served on top of pre-cooked chicken or pork that you've made ahead and frozen for a dinner that is ready in under 5 minutes.
Savory Raspberry Sauce Recipe
1/4 cup raspberry jam (ideally seedless)
3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp orange zest (optional)
1/2 tsp fresh thyme leaves (optional)
Pour all the ingredients into a bowl and whisk well to combine. Use a raspberry jam and Dijon mustard that you'd eat in other dishes.
Makes enough for about 2 to 2 1/2 pounds of meat.
