When to freeze meats

by Tianna
(Hobart, IN)

I see a lot of recipes that require freezing before cooking. I'd like to be able to cook the meals completely first and then simply reheat. My husband likes food right now when he's hungry and doesn't have the patience to wait for things to cook! Is cooking most meals all the way through first okay? Certain meats that shouldn't be done with?

A: Tianna,
You certainly can cook stuff through first and then freeze.

Many meals, like casseroles, only have to be assembled and not precooked to freeze.

Meats tend to be drier when cooked first. You can freeze them in broth if they'll be in the freezer a long time.

Hope that helps,
Michelle
