Adjust cooking time for frozen food.

How do i adjust a cooking time for a freezer meal?

It depends.

If the meal is fully thawed than you don't need to adjust the cooking time at all.

If it's still frozen, as a general rule, add 50% to the cooking time. Thus a casserole that takes 1 hour to bake when fresh should take about 1.5 hours to bake from frozen.

You can also turn the oven down 25 degrees to help keep the outter edges from over cooking until the center is done and be prepared to cover the top in tin foil so it doesn't burn.

A probe thermometer is great for sticking in the middle to see if it's hot yet instead of cutting into your meal.

If you have questions about specific recipes feel free to ask.

Hope that helps,
Michelle
