Refreezing cooked pork
I made a large amount of pork shoulder and froze several containers for a party. We thawed and heated the containers in the microwave the day of the party but had one we did not use. It went right to the fridge in its original container. Is it safe to refreeze and eat at a later date? Thank you!
Note from Michelle:
The question is how long it was out. If you immediately realized it was too much and refroze it would only be a question of texture, and pork shoulder would be fine texture wise.
But think about how long it was kept warm or how long it took to cool in the fridge before you even thought about refreezing it.
Here's an article with more info on refreezing food that you might find helpful.
